BE THANKFUL
Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

Exactly what i believe in…that adversity is a test of our patience and endurance, to make a better ‘us’, the things lacking in life are it’s true charm!

Pingback: On being thankful for what shows up in my life « POSSIBILITY/TRANSFORMATION/LEADERSHIP
Hello Paul
Right now I am choosing to be thankful for my ill health, inability to eat and the pain. It gets me present to how great my life has been: the good health I have been blessed with to date; the delicious fresh food cooked by my loving wife for so many years; the amazing places/restaurants I have eaten in; the sports I have played; the family that cares and loves me: the understanding folks at work; and the wonderful doctors……
Thank you for putting this into the world, it came to me at just the right time – an afternoon of pain where I was tempted to be sorry for myself.
With my love
Maz

Hey, Maz. Thanks so much for sharing the lessons portrayed in this powerful poem/prose. Also, how quickly words of support, validation, and inspiration can positively impact another. My hat is off to you my friend. I am sending prayers (and asking others to help as well) for your well-being. You are an inspiration. All the best to you and your family. Cheers! 🙂

I heard a story recently of a man who would ask his children at dinner each evening how they failed that day, what they learned from the experience, and then high-five them. Sometimes the difficult times can end up being the most rewarding.
