Make A Wish Jump

Make-A-Wish® grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition on average, every 38 minutes.

Make-A-Wish® believes that a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides and inspires Make-A-Wish® to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids they serve.

The wonderful people who give themselves away by volunteering, usually year after year, over and over, at the multitude of events and fundraisers throughout the Make-A-Wish organization are always kind, compassionate, and above all, resourceful and creative. They have to be to grant the individual and unique wishes of beautiful children. This leads the volunteers to develop some unique fundraising events. Here’s an example, jumping out of airplanes.

WishJump2013

Wish Jump 2013 is the third annual skydiving fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® Northeast New York – the most exciting fundraiser in the Capital Region! Make-A-Wish® grants the heartfelt wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, enhancing the child’s human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Wish Jump participants spend a few months fundraising, then come together to spend an exciting day skydiving at Saratoga Skydiving Adventures, while family, friends, and spectators watch and cheer from the ground. Between 2011 and 2012, 35 Wish Jumpers, including the local Make-A-Wish chapter CEO William Trigg, Ph.D., have participated in this event and have raised over $36,000!

WishJumpPic

Inspired by wish children and their families who bravely face fear each day, Wish Jumpers raise money that will help make wishes come true, and test their own bravery by skydiving in Saratoga Springs, New York on Saturday, July 27, 2013.

Please consider sponsoring this particular event HERE, or a Make-A-Wish® event in your area. Also, Make-A-Wish® would love to have you give them, and their children, a little of your volunteer time. Info HERE.

My attitude is that children’s wishes should come true…and we can help make that happen.

  2. Thank you Paul for posting about this event! As a volunteer wish granter and organizer of Wish Jump, I know first hand how the money we raise is used by our local chapter to make not only some very exciting things happen for kids and teens going through some really tough times, but also to create lasting memories for the kids and their families. Thank you so much for helping spread the word! We are three weeks away and about half way to our fundraising goal. Every dollar counts, and the support of people like you sharing information about events like this is a huge help! Thanks again! Mary Kenney

  3. I can only begin to imagine the love and caring of the inspired person who started the Make A Wish foundation – and all those who have made the dream – and wishes – come true. Thanks for the post.
