Most of the things that I have learned in this life; those real, momentous things that remain with us for the rest of our lives, I have had to learn the hard way.
The way I should.
I have been blessed with parents who have worked their asses off to give me a beautiful life. But, they did not spare any expense on driving home the importance of knowing the value of a dollar, and how far hard work and integrity can take you in this life. I learned this by receiving my first job two weeks after my 14th birthday. Almost eight years later, I am still an employee there.
My father taught me to stand my ground, but to also realize when you are wrong, and to never be too proud to apologize.
